About the Programme

In our college, the department of mathematics was started in 1967. The college was upgraded into a post graduate Department by starting M.Sc., (Mathematics). The department was further upgraded as the research department stream in the year 2017. It comprises of ten members with diverse specialization / interests. The teaching methodology combines standard methods of university education-lectures and tutorials with periodic written assignments. The Department also has a vibrant Mathematics Association that promotes students interests in the subject by organizing activities with their enthusiastic involvement. All these events are aimed at encouraging the students to explore beyond the frontiers of the prescribed syllabus, evaluate critical mathematical issues and interact with experts from diverse areas in the field of Mathematics.
