1.Employment Status: Applicants must be full-time faculty members recruited as Assistant Professors.
2.Academic Qualification: The Principal Investigator (PI) must possess a Ph.D. degree.
3.Proposal Submission: Applicants must submit a research proposal that clearly and convincingly demonstrates a new research direction with potential to attract external funding. Projects already supported by other sources are not eligible.
4.Grant Approval: If a proposal is rejected by the Seed Grant approval committee, the PI is allowed to submit a new proposal within the same year.
5.Continuity of PI: The SMRG will be discontinued if the PI takes more than 30 days of unsanctioned leave. In such cases, the PI must return the funds. Exceptions may be made for unforeseen health conditions, subject to special permission.
6.Resignation: If the PI resigns without completing the SMRG, they must refund all funds received under the scheme to GVN College.
7.Maternity Leave: For maternity leave, the PI will be granted special permission to extend their project upon returning to duty, provided prior permission is obtained.
8.Completion Requirements: Upon completion of the project, the PI must submit a detailed report along with achievements, deliver a formal presentation to the respective department committee, and submit a utilization certificate in the prescribed format.
