About Department

The Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security at GVN College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti is a one-year, career-oriented programme offered by the Department of Computer Science (Self-Financing). It is designed to equip graduates with the knowledge and practical skills required to protect digital systems, networks, and information from cyber threats. The curriculum covers fundamental and advanced topics in cyber security, including network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, cryptography, cyber laws, cloud security, and incident response. It combines theoretical concepts with hands-on laboratory training, real-world case studies, and project work to prepare students for the evolving cybersecurity landscape. On successful completion of the programme, students can pursue careers as Cyber Security Analysts, Information Security Analysts, Ethical Hackers, Security Consultants, Digital Forensics Investigators, Security Operations Center (SOC) Analysts, and Network Security Engineers, or continue their higher studies in cyber security and related disciplines.
