About Department

In our College, the department of Mathematics was started in 1967. The College was upgraded into a post graded Institution by starting M.Sc., (Mathematics). The department was further upgraded as the research department stream in the year 2017. It comprises of ten members with diverse specialization / interests. The Department also has a vibrant Mathematics Association that promotes students interests in the subject by organizing activities with their enthusiastic involvement. All these events are aimed at encouraging the students to explore beyond the frontiers of the prescribed syllabus, evaluate critical mathematical issues and interact with experts from diverse areas in the field of Mathematics. MATLAB was created to help the students to learn the modern experiments. The Department organizes National/International conferences and workshops to enhance research ideas among the students and motivates them to publish research articles in reputed journals. The Department of Mathematics organized extension activities for school students to promote and encourage them to pursue higher education.
